Of
course this book is based on scientific research, but regardless of
the stats and focus groups, it just makes sense.
I must qualify, however, that it makes a lot of sense now
that I am in my 30s and married twice.
I wish my girlfriends and I had access to this book when we
were in our 20s. It
would have saved some heartache and headache!
The book isn’t done in a flowy girlfriend style – it’s
written by a man after all – but it is no nonsense and easy to
read. It tells it like
it is, which is sometimes difficult for friends to do since we
don’t want to hurt one another’s feelings.
Among the very interesting things found in this book are
stats on whether a man is actually “old enough” to marry based
on his education level, the stages of a relationship and how to
recognize them (including the mystery behind why men are romantic
for awhile and then “poof” it’s gone), and what older men are
attracted to in women. There
are even chapters devoted to marrying over age 40, dating divorced
and widowed men, and online dating.
We
at GirlfriendBooks are not suggesting that you need a man to be
happy. We know women
can live very happy and fulfilled lives without a significant
other. But for those
who want to make a trip down the aisle and could use a little
advice on how to make it happen, this book can be a great resource.
