Wear More Cashmere: 151 Luxurious Ways to Pamper Your Inner Princess by Jennifer Sanders
Author Jennifer Sanders, the mother of two small boys, one day stuck a
post-it note to her computer as a reminder to pamper herself - it said
simply "wear more cashmere". 151 great ideas later, this
book was born. We all deserve some pampering, but who has the
time? This guide makes it attainable and fun to pamper your inner
princess. Just a few of the great ideas: end your normal daily
routine with a handful of M&Ms and a glass of red wine on the couch or
indulge in the biggest and blackest Jackie O sunglasses you can find and
hide out like a celebrity. This book is a delight, complete with
faux cashmere on the cover.

Yoga Beats the Blues: Boost Your Mood, Energy, and Concentration With Easy 5, 10, and 15-Minute Yoga Routines by Donna Raskin
Donna Raskin should have been a stressed girlfriend. In a one year
period, she had a baby, moved across the country and back again, endured a
failed relationship with her son's father, and lost her job. But she
kept it together and thrived. How, you ask? Her simple answer
is yoga. Raskin reveals her sanity saving techniques in this book
that is truly a self help guide and yoga book all in one. We
particularly loved Chapter 4, where she cheers you up and calms you down
in 10 minutes. 10 minutes very well spent.

Why Your Life Sucks: And What You Can Do About It by Alan H. Cohen
With the myriad of self help books out
there, Why Your Life
Sucks stands out from the pack. Alan Cohen,
whose life used to suck, but doesn't anymore, realized as a graduate
teaching assistant forced to take over a class when the professor killed himself, that many people project a facade of
happiness. Many peoples lives suck, even if only one part of it (job,
marriage). In this straight-forward speaking book, Cohen outlines 10 reasons
why your life sucks, including "You Expect It To Suck" and
"You Say Yes When You Mean No" and shows you what to do about it.
There is a lot of valuable information in this book that can truly help
most people, even if your life only sucks a little.

Comfort
Secrets for Busy Women: Finding Your Way When Your Life Is Overflowing by
Jennifer Louden
What do you do to comfort yourself? Maybe you take a few precious minutes
and do something nice for yourself - like curling up on the couch with a pint of
Ben & Jerry’s and a big spoon. Well,
that’s an example I would have given prior to reading Comfort Secrets.
However, my perception of comfort has changed significantly while reading
and contemplating this book. Do I
really feel comfort after I’ve finished the ice cream?
Not really – actually I feel like I overindulged and gained a couple of
unwanted pounds. Real comfort is
about being kind and nurturing to yourself for the long term, which can sometimes
conflict with the “shadow” comforts we may desire as a quick fix. Read

At the End of Words: A Daughter's Memoir by Miriam Stone
What a beautiful,
poignant tribute this woman has written for her mother, who
is dying of breast
cancer. Cathartic for her, but a moving and helpful collection of
journal writings and poems for anyone who is dealing with a loved one's
illness.
