A Patchwork Heart: Deepening Your Love for Others by Kim Moore & Pam Mellskog
For
those girlfriends with a strong faith, this is a wonderful, deeply
spiritual book about opening your heart to others. We all have
complex relationships with family, friends and others around us and
sometimes can lose sight that there is good in all people. This book
will help you open your heart and accept and find compassion for those
people you may have difficult relationships with.

Divine
Intuition by Lynn Robinson
In the movie Serendipity,
Sara (Kate Beckinsale) follows her intuition, or what she believes is her
destiny, to ultimately find true happiness in her love life with Jonathan
(John Cusack). While this movie is funny & romantic, is there a life
lesson to learned here? Read the rest of

Comfort
Secrets for Busy Women: Finding Your Way When Your Life Is Overflowing by
Jennifer Louden
What do you do to comfort yourself? Maybe you take a few precious minutes
and do something nice for yourself - like curling up on the couch with a pint of
Ben & Jerry’s and a big spoon. Well,
that’s an example I would have given prior to reading Comfort Secrets.
However, my perception of comfort has changed significantly while reading
and contemplating this book. Do I
really feel comfort after I’ve finished the ice cream?
Not really – actually I feel like I overindulged and gained a couple of
unwanted pounds. Real comfort is
about being kind and nurturing to yourself for the long term, which can sometimes
conflict with the “shadow” comforts we may desire as a quick fix. Read

The Rebound Journal: Breaking Up and Bouncing Back with Style by Kerry Colburn & Jennifer Worick
Just the opening page
of this journal makes you feel better: "exclusive property of sassy
single babe _____, who is no longer saddled with ____". When
your best girlfriend is not at hand, turn to this journal for some great
exercises - like listing all the things you really couldn't stand about
him, fill in The "It's Not Me, It's YOU" mad lib-eration letter,
or pick out one of the many "feel good fast" ideas to move you
along your way. A lifesaver for the broken hearted girlfriend!

At the End of Words: A Daughter's Memoir by Miriam Stone
What a beautiful,
poignant tribute this woman has written for her mother, who
is dying of breast
cancer. Cathartic for her, but a moving and helpful collection of
journal writings and poems for anyone who is dealing with a loved one's
illness.
