I Don't Know How She Does It by Allison Pearson
From the outside Kate
Reddy appears to have a perfect life
- a high powered job as a portfolio manager, a doting husband, two perfect
children, and a reliable nanny. However, as we get to know Kate, we realize
that her life is not nearly as perfect as it might seem. The book begins in
the middle of the night with Kate frantically trying to make a store bought pie
appear like a home-baked one for her daughter's school Christmas party.
Thus begins our journey with Kate who, with good humor and wit, shares with us
her life as a working mother. Continue

What to Expect When You're Expecting by Arlene Eisenberg
If you had to choose only one pregnancy book, this should be it.
It is an easy to follow month-by-month guidebook to pregnancy and
birth written by respected experts. Take
some of the pregnancy diet suggestions with a grain of salt, though.
In all seriousness, who could go through an entire pregnancy with
barely any sweets unless there was a true medical reason to abstain! (Also, if you are a sweet lover, do not purchase companion
book What to Eat When You’re Expecting unless you are looking for a guilt
trip.)
What to Expect When You're Expecting

What to Expect the First Year by Arlene Eisenberg
This is a basic guide to baby’s development through the first year.
It is set in the same month-by-month format as What to Expect When
You’re Expecting and written by the same team of experts.
The book is a valuable resource to generally gauge what should be
happening when, and also offers helpful advice on problems areas such as
sleeping (or should we say “not sleeping”).

No matter how you became a single mother – by choice or by
unforeseen circumstances – this book can be a treasured resource.
It is filled with expert advice on financial, psychological and
legal issues, as well as on such scary topics as dating.
During my time as a single mom, I took comfort in knowing there was
a community of single moms out there like me, and this book helped me feel
connected to them.
